DAD in CANADA!!!! My favorite memories of Dad will always be the annual Canadian fishing trip. He would almost always be the first one on the lake in the morning and the last one off at night. I'm not exactly sure how many consecutive years he took that 20+ hour trip up to Lake Elva, but it was always worth the drive. Speaking of "the drive" how many hours did he spend behind the wheel of that motorhome?
Oh yes, dad loved Canada. It had to have been his most anticipated trip of the year. Because of going out west, camping trips, Burt Lake, and heading up to Canada, I would have to say that top picture of the back of dads head in the motor is forever etched in my memory.
Chad do you remember the Joke dad would tell everytime by the Cemetary next to the Big Boys restuarant we would always eat at on our way up to Burt Lake? "Why do they put gate around cemetarys? Because people are dying to get in". I think he would tell it every time. That also reminds me that he would always call Big Boy restaurant the Elias Brothers and instead of just saying Meijers he would call it Thrifty Acres. Funny guy.
I was always upset because it was his favorite trip and it seemed like he liked being away. Now I realize how much he just liked being on the peaceful lake and catching fish with no boats around. I'd say 1000s of hours were spent driving that Motor Home and he loved every minute. I couldn't ever sneak in the bathroom either without him swerving all over the road. I love that man more each time I think of him.
Nice pictures. The one in the motorhome reminds me of trying to go to the bathroom on the road while he swerved back and forth on purpose!

I just watched the Canada fishing DVD that Chad made last week. Good memories. Dad looked like he was in his glory. That man loved that country.
