  1. Was that back when they actually got some attention?
    Good picture.

  2. This picture reminds me of just how much Dad hated Ellie. I remember we went fishing on the boat with Ellie at Hutchins lake, and that dog barked non stop. I think I was lucky that she made it back home.

  3. Andrew - You took the picture. That's why it's good.

Also, it reminded me that dad spent so much time with his granddogs as well that he even gave Macey the "silent treatment" after she ran away from him. Too funny!

  4. The day Macy ran away, Rick acted like he was so mad at Macy but the fact that he looked for him for an hour or more made me realize that Rick really did want to find him. Yes, he really did give him the silent treatment, which still makes me laugh.

  5. Then I'll never forget the day Ellie disappeared. Rick took the gulf cart down into the supposedly dryed out pond and got it stuck. His balance wasn't the best anymore so he sent me to get a boat anchor to hook to the wench and I, of course, got the wrong one. He fell in the weeds and I got blamed for pushing him. Seems like I must have gotten used to being blamed for anything that didn't go right. He was funny that way. Then we went for a rememberable ride that night on the gulf cart, not knowing it would be our last. I then called Andrew and he came to help look for Ellie for a long time. I could tell Rick felt bad. I prayed that night, God just at least let me know what happened to Ellie, because you know I'm an animal lover. I left it with the Lord and went to sleep. At 12:30 a.m. Ellie came in the back door that I had left open!! I grabbed her and took her to Rick and said, "Rick, look! God does hear us and he answers our prayers." He woke up and said, Ellie, where were you?" Just a night I'll never forget.
